What is JavaScript?
JavaScript is a scripting language. It is different from Java language. It is object-based, lightweight and cross platform. It is widely used for client side validation. 

Where JavaScript is used
  • Client-side validation
  • Dynamic drop-down menus
  • Displaying data and time
  • Displaying popup windows and dialog boxes (like alert dialog box, confirm dialog box and prompt dialog box)
  • Displaying clocks etc.
